Communication Styles • The Coach’s primary focus is to assist Interviewers in completing a good survey. • Part of giving feedback involves helping Interviewers improve their skills. • When giving feedback, knowing each Interviewer’s communication style is important to ensure success.
Communication Styles Some challenges of being an effective Coach include: • Recognizing different communication styles. • Knowing what motivates these different communication styles. • Knowing what feedback style to use with these different communication styles.
Communication Type Interviewers and Coaches can be separated into one of four communication types: • Driver • Collaborator • Contributor • Investigator
Communication Type / Driver Driver Strengths: • Direct • Practical • Decisive • Confident • Clear, to the point • Task oriented
Communication Type / Driver Driver Drawbacks: • Challenges others • Impatient • Insensitive • Too independent • Need to control • Domineering
