  2. Facts: • Has been inhabited for almost 3,000 years • Has mild mild humid winters, and warm to hot summers • Oldest city in France • Second most populated city with about 860,363 people

  3. The Old Port • It’s where the old Greeks came in and founded Marseille in 600B.C. • Boat ports, hotels and museums. • Port is connected to the Mediterranean sea and can be seen from the board walk. • At night it is lit up and shows a beautiful display of the port.

  4. Marseille Historical Museum • Opened in 1983 • First historical museum in France • Contains permanent displays of sxhibiting the history of Marseille up to the 18th century • Presents ancient Greek and Roman periods of the port of Marseille • Contains Great Plague of 1720

  5. Plage Planches a voile • Sometimes called Plagedes Veiliplanchistes • Best windsurfing spot • Along the beach there are: Tourist bars, clubs, cafes, and restaurants • Activities that are available: Children playground, carousel, volley ball courts, skateboardingparks, fishing on the rocks
