  2. Data is a collection of facts, figures and statistics related to an object. It is any facts, numbers or text that can be processed by a computer. Also, data is unprocessed or raw facts or unorganized facts that need to be processed. Information is data that has been processed in such a way as to be meaningful to the person who receives it.

  3. DATA INFORMATION 1. It is raw and unorganized. 2. It is a collection of non-random facts, numbers, symbols, letters, etc 3. It is input for processing 4. It is ‘raw material’ given to computer on which it performs a given activity by processed the data 5. It is presented in bits. 1. It is the result of analyzed data. 2. It is processed for a suitable purpose for a final user. 3. It is an output of processed data 4. It is processed data that is organized, structured or presented in a given context to make it useful. 5. It is presented as a whole DIFFERENCES BETWEEN DATA AND INFORMATION

NUMERIC DATA: This includes figures, value or numbers e.g 200, 100, 9, 12500, 11.29, etc ALPHABETIC DATA: This includes labels, letters of the alphabet, sentences, notation, phrase, etc e.g. Folarinde, GT Bank, Unche, B,E, etc ALPHA-NUMERIC DATA: This includes the combination of numbers, special character and labels e.g. 20km, $50, 156ps, 12 )’Clock, etc AUDIO DATA: This includes sounds, cry, noise, etc but they are dependent on the context. VISUAL DATA: This includes pictures, images, diagrams, charts, etc AUDIO-VISUAL DATA: This is the combination of audio and visual data. The combination of the two does not make information.
