Red Wine vs. Beer • Red wine health benefits are well known but what about beer? • ethanol in alcohol has significant health benefits • Counters atherosclerosis • Increases HDL cholesterol, lowers LDL cholesterol • Reduces risk of blood clots • Lower incidence of gallstones • Decrease risk of type 2 diabetes • Improve cognitive function in older adults
