STOP TO…THINK נביא Middle School
OBJECTIVE Review/Learn three steps of the Stop-to-think model in order to apply to learning Navi
Steps To understand • Ask: • Why? • Who? • How? • Where? • What? • Connect: • Does this sound familiar to another story • In Tanach? • In your life? • In a different class? • Predict: • What do you think will happen as a result? • What do you think was the cause? • What could be the motivation of this individual to do this?
Process • Bring Sticky Notes to class • As the pesukim are being read, write down your questions, comments • The sticky note should contain: • The פרק & the פסוק • i.e. א:ד • The Step (underlined) • i.e. Ask • The question/comment • Why was the mother coming out? • Place the sticky notes in your Navi Let’s practice!
IN Your קונטרוס-Portfolio These sticky notes then are typed up to form the following elements of your portfolio: • Commentary– Questions you had on the section throughout your learning and any answers you can find. • Connections – Things the Navi makes you think of from outside our class.
