Understanding Judging No one believes it is wrong to Judge! If we say that Someone: Sins Is Wrong Is Lost Will Lose Soul If we say that Someone: Is Good Did Right Is a Christian Going to Heaven Wrong! OKAY! Both Are Judging
The Bible Tells Us:At least 3 different kinds of judgment Hypocritical“judge not, that you be not judged” Opinion“let no one judge you in food or drink” Righteous“judge righteous judgment”
Understanding Judging Hypocritical • Sinful – Jesus speaks of this type • Matthew 7:1-5 • Jesus only condemns hypocritical judgment • Jesus does not condemn the concern or judgment for the “speck” • The remedy • “first remove the plank from your own eye, THEN you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother’s eye” • Galatians 6:1-2; James 5:19-20; Romans 2:1-3, 21-24
Understanding Judging Opinion • Must not judge another based solely upon opinion • Romans 14:3-9 • God has welcomed both • Romans 14:10 • Cannot be judgmental toward one another pertaining to matters that are indifferent in the Lord • Romans 14:13
Understanding Judging Righteous • Jesus stated we are to judge righteous judgment • John 7:24; Luke 12:57 • We will be judged by the Word of Christ • John 12:48; 15:6-7 • God cannot lie • Titus 1:1-3; John 8:32 • Christ is the righteous judge • 2 Timothy 4:8

Understanding Judging • Christians are to live their lives in accordance with the will of God • Titus 2:11-12; Matthew 7:21 • May we be determined to live a life of service to God, teaching others to do the same • Matthew 28:18-20 “Do not judge according to appearance, but judge with righteous judgment.” (John 7:24)
