SETTING UP AND MANAGING INTERACTIVE GLOBAL COMMUNICATIONS WITH STUDENTS Marla Davenport, Director of Learning & Technology, TIES (live); Kathy Kraemer, Internet Curriculum Consultant, TIES (via technology) Connecting your students with students and content providers around the world using interactive videoconferencing provides exciting, authentic and alternative learning experiences. While Internet2 provides the needed bandwidth, there are other considerations to making the event seamless for teachers and students. The session will include a checklist of items that need to be accomplished and tips for success. Participants will see examples including a live viewing of the international Megaconference Jr., with a behind the scenes look at the organization and management of the conference.

Class to Class Collaborations Virtual Reading Group Twice-weekly, distributed reading comprehension instruction for sixth graders using videoconferencing and email. This instruction employed shared-evaluation pedagogy. The AP Mixer Project This project plans to bring together AP classes across the country for interactive learning and project collaboration.
