  2. Who we are… AHE in Lodz is one of the biggest non-state academies in Poland. More than 10 thousand people attend courses at eleven faculties which offer : Master degree courses, Bachelor degree courses and Engineering degree courses. All these have been accredited by the National Commission for Accreditation, which guarantees that each student of receives the highest quality of education. Currently, the AHE has authorisation to conduct doctorates.

Our educational basis • AHE in Lodz covers 88 thousand square meters of area with modern design in Lodz and in its branches outside Lodz. • There are more than 2500 computers with access to the Internet. • AHE has its own publishing house and printing house, and a library with 41 thousand volumes and hundreds of Polish and foreign magazine titles. • All AHE buildings are adapted to the needs of students in wheelchairs. • Each student receives a free e-mail address located on the school's servers, and access to an online student room with access to the Internet and school's Intranet. • There are also specialist computer laboratories, a video production lab, a photo studio, radio, press and television laboratories, training rooms, a gym, lecture halls with modern audio-video equipment and yoga room.

Polish Virtual University • Polish Virtual University (PUW) is a joint project of Maria Curie-Sklodowska University in Lublin and Academy of Humanities and Economics in Lodz. • We offer study programmes and extension courses over the Internet. • Our task is to support traditional lectures and trainings as well as promote modern teaching methods. • We are a competence centre for methodology, technology and organisation of eLearning. • We have the capacity to provide state-of-the-art information technologies and methodological support to all interested institutions, especially to other Universities and Colleges. http://www.puw.pl/english/

PVU’s offer for other higher education institutions • Polish Virtual University would like to offer all interested Universities and Colleges its experience in designing and conducting on-line study programmes and courses. We are eager to help others, i.e. our intention is to establish cooperation with academic societies interested in the development of distance learning in Poland. We are ready to share with you the potential of our eLearning platform.   13. http://www.patio.art.pl/ PATIO Art Centre Centre`s activity concentres on non-commercial undertakings promoting modern art. We try to create diverse as well as reflecting variety of modern art tendencies offer. We present both disciplines regarded as traditional: painting, graphic, sculpture, photography and multimedia – video-art, net-art or performance. In addition, we run publishing activities – exhibition catalogues. We also engage in various projects, together with art individuals, artistic groups as well with national and foreign galleries.

  14. INTERNATIONAL PROJECTS DEPARTMENT The International Projects Department of the AHE was created in 2002. Its main tasks are, among others, to prepare and carry out international projects within educational and research programmes of the European Commission, to support the cooperation and to promote the good imageof the Academy on the international scene, as well as to promote the knowledge on the possibilities resulting from taking part in projects co-funded by the UE among research personnel.
