  6. 1 Peter 2:13-14 • 13 Submit yourselves • for the Lord’s sake • to every authority instituted among men: • whether to the king, • as the supreme authority, • 14 or to governors, • who are sent by him • to punish those who do wrong and • to commend those who do right.

  7. What doesit mean? Submission means to recognize and voluntarily accept the demands/laws of government authorities. Submission does not diminish personhood. Voluntarily acknowledge and accept every authority God has placed in your life… including the government. There are exceptions.

  17. 1 Peter 2:16 Live as free men, but do not use your freedom as a cover-up for evil; live as servants of God. Romans 6:16 Don’t you know that when you offer yourselves to someone to obey him as slaves, you are slaves to the one whom you obey—whether you are slaves to sin, which leads to death, or to obedience, which leads to righteousness?
