Nutrition • Our bodies need many types of food to stay healthy
Nutrition • Foods are divided into different types: • Grains • Fruits and Vegetables • Dairy • Meats & Proteins • Fats, Oils and Sweets
Nutrition • The different types of food make up the food pyramid
Nutrition The food pyramid tells us how many servings of each food group we need to eat every day
Nutrition Sweets taste great, but are not good for us in large amounts
Nutrition How do I know what to eat to stay healthy?
Nutrition • You need to eat more of the foods on the bottom of the food pyramid than on the top
Nutrition 6-11 servings of grains every day
Nutrition • 3-5 servings of vegetables
Nutrition 2-4 servings of fruits every day
Nutrition • 2-4 servings of meats and protein every day
Nutrition 2 servings of dairy products every day
Nutrition • But only a little bit of sweets every day
