Current Malaria Status in RSA • By 2001 morbidity reduced by 59% • Between 2000 & 2008, mortality reduced by 96%; morbidity by 88%
ACT/RDTs Ordering and Delivery Schedule • ACT coverage in South Africa ~100% • ACT and RDTs Procurement and delivery through provincial medical stores on National tender • Very occasional stock outs ACT and RDTs- systems in place to replenish stocks.
IRS Schedule • High IRS coverage sustained >80% for last 10 years; in 2008 - 88% coverage was achieved • Plans in place to sustain high coverage with adequate resources • Training is conducted routinely during July and August, each year
