  2. How You Get Lyme Disease • You get Lyme Disease from deer ticks. Deer ticks pass Lyme Disease by biting someone. When deer ticks bite someone, they pass on the spirochete bacteria into your body.

  3. Where Ticks Are • Ticks are found in trees, high grass, bushes, and shrubs. Ticks are mainly found in the Northeast. • Adult ticks are the size of a sesame seed. • You should put on a long sleeve shirt, pants, and sneakers when you go into the woods.

  4. What to do if you find a tick on you • Remove the tick with a fine tipped tweezer. • If you can’t reach it ask someone to help remove it. • Try to save the tick and put it in a container to have it examined by your doctor.

  5. Symptoms • There are three stages of lyme disease: • Stage one symptoms: Bulls-eye type rash, fatigue, chills, low-grade fever, head ache, muscle and joint aches, and swollen lymph nodes (flu-like symptoms) • Stage two symptoms: • Stage three symptoms:
