  9. Statistical information in the Internet in small infobites (>) ? • Yearly statistics are a good example • Telecommunications 2004 - 2005 - 2006 • Good: • information can be published quicker • small infobites for quick use • easy bites for google to find • Bad: • but where is the whole picture? • no publication to identify • what to archive • from what date to calculate the speed of statistics? Markku Huttunen

  10. Statistical information in the Internet in extensive publications? • What is the challenge • to allow quick publishing of information • to maintain a clear extensive package in a form of ”publication”, where all information of that reference time is to be found • the publication must be arhivable, it must be unambiguously identifiable and referenceable • so it should be a publication, which can be published in different dates, yet it should be clearly identifiable as one publication containing all relevant information of a certain reference time in one extensive and unambiguous package • Answer is a multi-volume publication? • ”An ISBN must be assigned to the whole set of volumes of a multi-volume work. In addition to this each individual volume must be assigned its own ISBN.” (>) • Example:ISBN 978-951-638-500-9 (whole set); ISBN 978-951-638-501-6 (part 1); ISBN 978-951-638-502-3 (part 2) Markku Huttunen
