  3. Pennsylvania Tornadoes • 670 Tornadoes Since 1950 (95% <F3, 75% <F2) • Only 1 F-5 (Crossed From Ohio in 1985) • 8 F-4s, 6 in 1985; Big One Was Furthest East • Strong Tornadoes (>F2) Rare in Central PA

  4. Pennsylvania Tornadoes • Strong (>F2) Tornadoes Most Likely in May • But There Have Been F3s March-September • Most Likely Time To See Severe Is Near 5 PM

  5. “Central PA” Severe Weather 1980-2006 • Primary Season is April 27th – Sept. 5th • First Peak Is June 1-2 • Season Peak on July 8th • Almost Unheard Of Between Sept. – Mar.
