Outline • Introduction • Grabs your attention. • Use a quote, a question, or a historical reference. • Hints at your purpose.
Outline • Body • Describes the setting. • Then, tells the story. • Detail • Commentary
Outline • Conclusion • Restates the purpose clearly. • What have I learned? • Why am I telling this story? • Often uses a catch phrase. • “I have a dream...”
Afterward… • Determine a title. • Think about what the main subject is and summarize it in a few words. • Remember not to start a sentence with “I learned that…” or “My story is…” • Be careful of spelling and grammar: use a thesaurus, dictionary, or your teacher as a reference. • Use the rubric as a guide
