Power Sound Editor Free A Review By: Landon Williams
Basic facts of Power Sound Editor Free • FREE version OR deluxe version ($30). • Download at www.free-sound-editor.com • Can be installed locally on Windows machines only. • Record or upload audio files for editing.
Input Methods • Open local file • Record • Rip from CD • Extract from video • Get from YouTube • Note the close resemblance to Microsoft Office
Key Features Pictured left are the different effects that can be applied to the audio file. Pictured below are the noise reduction options
Reviews • “It's not completely free, as you can NOT save files for example in OGG-format in the free version. Also Power Sound Editor installed its own search bars in my default web browser (Chrome) and changed default search engine and homepage WITHOUT asking it in the installation progress” (Softsonic). • “Well, I can cut, resize, mix or edit any piece of audio and save it on high quality, improving the performance of the signals. Also I can make recordings from any source through my sound card” (CNET).
Cons • Does not allow multiple files to be editing on same project. • Descriptions of software are somewhat misleading. • Files can only be saved as .wav files. • During install changes are made to change default search engines and adds toolbar in browser. Pros • FREE! • Easy to learn and use • Good for a beginning user • I rate Power Sound Editor Free a 5 out 10 because it does have some functionality but lacks the more advanced features.
