  4. School lunches must offer the five food components specified in the meal pattern each day. Offer Versus Serve allows students to decline 1 or 2 components at lunch. However, students must select at least ½ cup of either the fruit or the vegetable component. LUNCH: Offer Versus Serve

  5. LUNCH: Offer Versus Serve NSLP sponsors must offer the full portion size of both the fruit and the vegetable component. If a student selects a ½ cup serving of the fruit or vegetable, then he/she must select full servings of at least 2 other food components in order to have a reimbursable lunch.
