  2. WHAT IS THE CAUSE OF THE DISEASE? • HIV lives and reproduces in blood and other body fluids. We know that the following fluids can contain high levels of HIV: • Blood, Semen (cum), Pre-seminal fluid (pre-cum),Breast milk, Vaginal fluids and Rectal (anal) mucous. Other body fluids and waste products-like faces, nasal fluid, saliva, sweat, tears, urine, or vomit-don’t contain enough HIV to infect you, unless they have blood mixed in them and you have significant and direct contact with them

  4. WHO COMMONLY SUFFERS FROM THE DISEASE? • HIV is found in specific human body fluids. If any of those fluids enter your body, you can become infected with HIV.

  5. WHAT ARE THE SGINS OF THE DISEASE? • Many people do not develop symptoms after they first get infected with HIV. Others have a flu-like illness within several days to weeks after exposure to the virus. They complain of fever, headache, tiredness, and enlarged lymph nodes in the neck. These symptoms usually disappear within a few weeks. After that, the person feels normal and has no symptoms.

TREATMENT FOR THE DISEASE? • Over the past years, several drugs have become available These drugs are called highly active antiretroviral therapy (HAART) and have substantially reduced HIV-related complications and deaths. Nucleoside or nucleotide reverse transcriptase inhibitors (NRTIs). These include medications such as zidovudine (AZT/Retrovir), didanosine (ddI/Videx), zalcitabine (ddC/Hivid), stavudine (d4T/Zerit), lamivudine (3TC/Epivir), abacavir (ABC/Ziagen), emtricitabine(FTC/Emtriva), and tenofovir (Viread).

  7. CAN IT BE CURED? • No Hiv/aids can not be cured it only can be controlled.
