In order to become a teacher you will have to have a 2.5 GPA (grade point average) for your freshman and sophomore years and you will need a 3.0 GPA for your junior and senior years a 23 for the ACT and a high school graduation diploma to get into the university of Utah Highschool
SLCC; SLCC is an open enrollment school meaning they accept all students in their admissions process. Each person will either need an ACT score or will need to take an entrance exam. Even if you have not earned a high school diploma a person can earn this here prior to starting college classes. • UNIVERSITY OF UTAH; in the University of Utah you will need a high school diploma and a good GPA and you will need to have at least a 23 on your ACT test the U of U has an elementary education program but its pretty expensive, after going to SLCC you can go to the U of U and finish up on Elementary Education Degree. Years 1 and 2 you will need to take ten core classes, one child development course, one ethnic studies course,one linguistic languages course ,one multicultural courseand one integrating into fine arts class • Year 3 will need pre requisite of years 1 and 2 • Year 4 fall semester • advanced reading methods, classroom management, elementary math methods, elementary social studies methods , field practium, seminar on language awareness , • Spring semester • action research /seminar, student teaching:elementary University of Utah Elementary Education classes
