Role Based Security • Limit access to Project Data and Functions based on Role played on Project • Responsibility provides list of functions (Where you can go) • Project Manager – Project List • Team Member – Team Member Home • Role determines what you see and what you do there • Project Manager – Access Project, Update workplan, Budgets, etc. • Team Member – See Tasks assigned to, Review Documents, Issues, etc.

Organization Authority • Two Primary Functions In Organization Authority • Project Authority – For Project Access in Oracle Project Management • Resource Authority – For Resource Access in Oracle Resource Management • Users assigned access to one or more Project/Resource Organizations for access to update projects or manage staffing for resources • Roles like Project Admins/Accountants, Staffing Managers, Organization Managers, etc.
Organization Authority • Project Authority • Allows access to all projects owned by assigned Organizations • Resource Organization • Allows access to staffing managers to manage staffing for all resources in assigned organization • Primary Contact specifies which staffing manager will be the primary contact for staffing approvals for the give organization.
HR Security Profile • A listing of organizations or all organizations under an identified node of an organization hierarchy. • Security profile assigned to a personal profile options for a user • Used in Oracle Project Intelligence • User has access to Intelligence information starting for all organizations included in the profile
Other Securing Elements: Project Access • Project Access • Flag on Project for Secured Project • Enterprise Projects • Secured Flag not checked • Queryable in Project List by any user with access • People with no role assigned default guest role and can see project data based on guest role menu • Secured Project • Accessible by people with roles on project only
Other Securing Elements: Budget Update • Control Access to Update Budget • Secures updates to Budgets after initial Baseline • Allows for controlling updates via Change Orders • If setup to control updates after initial baseline • NO user is able to make budget updates • Only updates allowed through Approved Change Orders
