Setting up Role Based Security • Determine Roles that will access the application • Setup Roles • Determine what application areas each role needs • Setup Responsibilities with appropriate menus • Define what functions each role can play in various project states • Setup menus appropriate to each role/state • Assign Menus to Roles/States

Organization Security • Providing access to Projects, Resources and Organization based roll-up information based on Organization Role • Organization Managers • Resource Supervisors • Staffing Managers • Not feasible to setup all these people with Roles on Projects • Supervisors/Staffing managers – not directly associated with Projects and accountable for One/More Organizations resources

Organization Authority • Two Primary Functions In Organization Authority • Project Authority – For Project Access in Oracle Project Management • Resource Authority – For Resource Access in Oracle Resource Management • Users assigned access to one or more Project/Resource Organizations for access to update projects or manage staffing for resources • Roles like Project Admins/Accountants, Staffing Managers, Organization Managers, etc.

HR Security Profile • A listing of organizations or all organizations under an identified node of an organization hierarchy. • Security profile assigned to a personal profile options for a user • Used in Oracle Project Intelligence • User has access to Intelligence information starting for all organizations included in the profile
