Title 1 Program Eligibility 2018-2019 School-Wide • We qualify as a school to receive federal funds under the Elementary & Secondary Education Act (ESEA) as amended by the No Child Left Behind Act (NCLB), Title 1, Part. • Title 1 Program: School staff members work with input from parents and community to develop a plan, in order to upgrade our entire educational program. • Title 1 eligibility is based on the enrollment of students from low-income families. • Please call the school if you have any questions or would like additional information - Ms. Arndts

Parent/Student Handbook • Every parent can downloada parent/student handbook that outlines all of the rules and norms of Snyder Middle School as well as the Bensalem School District. • Our goal is to prepare students for BHS as they progress towards young adulthood. • Please return the “Acknowledgement Form” that must be signed by parent to indicate reading rules and information, media release, and Internet refusal.

Daily School Attendance “Eighty percent of success is showing up.” Woody Allen • If a student is absent, “excused” late for extenuating circumstances, or will have an early dismissal, parents must notify us in either two ways: (1) Hand-written note by parent or note from physician/dentist facility; (2) email sent to snyderattendance@bensalemsd.org • Absence notes are due within 3 days upon the student’s return (We do not use the “blue cards” like Elementary) • Absences may be declared as illegal/unexcused if absence notes are not received within a 3 day grace period • Students are late after 8:05 (3 lates = detention) • Pre-approved vacations during the school year may be approved for up to 5 days

  18. PIAA Physicals • Mandatory, NOT an option. • Must be PIAA, NOT school physical. • Must be dated after July 1, 2018. • Must be completed prior to first tryout/practice. • Must be completed by medical professional (MD, DO, PAC, CRNP, SNP) • Must be turned in to coach or athletic director.
