The Beginning ? Rosalie Gascoigne was a New Zealand born artist who worked mainly in Australia. She lived in Canberra with her husband, astronomer Ben Gascoigne. They lived in the isolated, scientific community of Mount Stromlo. In 1974, after raising 3 children, Rosalie at 57 years of age started to exhibit her work. This is an unusual starting age for an artist in Australia. Dolly Boxes, 1976. Wooden shelves, wooden boxes and plastic dolls.
