TECHNICAL INFORMATION • The files are EPS • Encapsulated PostScript • For designers • Created in Adobe Illustrator v. 11 or Adobe InDesign CS1
TECHNICAL INFORMATION • Downloading an EPS file (PC) • Click on the desired logo • Choose a place on your hard drive to save the file • After the file is complete, open Illustrator and open the file through Illustrator • The files were created in a Mac environment so they should open fine with a Mac • Make sure your icon is an Illustrator icon, not Photoshop icon.
TECHNICAL INFORMATION • Downloading InDesign files (PC & Mac) • Click on the desired file • Choose a place on your hard drive to save the file • After the file is complete, open InDesign and open the file • The files were created in a Mac environment so they should open fine with a Mac
TECHNICAL INFORMATION • Why not JPGs? • An Illustrator EPS is a “vector” file • A JPG is an image made of pixels.
TECHNICAL INFORMATION • Some programs require JPGs • For PowerPoint, use 150dpi JPGs • For Word, use 300dpi JPGs • For Publisher, use 300dpi JPGs • Screen images from the web are 72 dpi and will be fuzzy when printed.

COLOR • Official Colors • Special ink mix for Tech Red-for simple printing, use a 1:1 ration of PMS 185 and PMS 485 • When printing large areas of red in process, use 100% M, 100% Y, and 100% PMS 485 • When printing large areas of black in process, use 30% C, 30% M, 0% Y, 100% K for rich black • Please note that text should be in 100% black in all instances
ODDS AND ENDS • A few words about Publisher • Before you send Publisher files to a printer • On the menu, go to Tools then to Commercial Printing Tools, Color Printing. Change all colors to match your desired outcome. • Make sure your text is only black • Under File menu, go to Pack and Go. Make sure you embed your fonts and create links for your images.
