  1. Integrated Project Co-operative Systems for Road Safety “Smart Vehicles on Smart Roads” Tamas Lovas & Arpad Barsi Budapest University of Technology and Economics tlovas@mail.bme.hu, barsi@eik.bme.hu SAFESPOT

  2. Editor work in D2.3.2 • Feels like we’ve been slowed down  • Hope to speed up as it happened after Helsinki!  • No new materials, no improvement in the final deliverable • Strict deadlines: editing needs more time before submission!

  3. Group T2.3.1 • Participants (responsible persons) • BME (task leader) • Arpad Barsi, Tamas Lovas • VTT (WP3 leader) • Matti Kutila, Jukka Laitinen • Mizar • Angela Spence, Domenico Zagari • IBEO • Florian Ahlers • ISMB • Dario Galleano • LCPC • Nicolas Hautière • TeleAtlas • Christine Bartels • Peek? • Siebe Turksma

  4. Actions relevant to T2.3.1 Skype conference call on 13 Mar 2007

  5. Work in T2.3.1 after Torino 2007 • Final (revised and modified) Sensor selection • Camera (NIR, CCTV); VTT, LCPC, CIDAUT • Laserscanner; IBEO • RFID; BME • WSN; Mizar/ISMB • Extended sensor specification • New parameters in detailed specification table • Required computation power, communication protocol, communication media • Height from ground, orientation, distance from roadway, distance of each other (in case of more sensors) • Cost issue

  6. Costs • Cost of sensor and additional equipments (computer, communication unit, extra storage, protection etc.) • Installation cost (per sensor and per Safespot, thus the number of sensors in a Safespot (e.g. in a junction) have to be decided). Please provide the estimated time and number of people for the installation. • Maintenance cost (per year, per event, when? what type of maintenance is expected?) • Overall cost of a sample Safespot (e.g. sample junction presented inTorino) with your required sensors

  7. How to proceed in T2.3.1? • Requests from T2.3.2 & T2.3.3? • E.g. output data specs • Suggestions from sensor providers? • What need to be specified? • Are all the applications supported by the selected/specified sensors?
