Initial Guidelines • Airtel will create a parallel email-id for you on Office365 • The username and password of this account will be mailed to you on your existing airtelmail.in email • Once you get the user-name and the password, you are requested to login to Microsoft site to access your account first time. • URL to access your account https://login.microsoftonline.com/
https://login.microsoftonline.com/ 1. Login to the portal using the user ID and the temporary password you would have received from airtel on your airtelmail.in email. 2. On your first login, the system will ask you to change your password 3. Use the new password to login back
This is your access page. • Click on Outlook to open your email interface.
1 2 3 • For first time use, Microsoft Outlook Web Apps will ask you to specify your preferred language and Time Zone. • Select “English” for Language • Select “(UTC+5.30) Chennai, Kolkata, Mumbai, New Delhi as your Time Zone. • Click OK Button
This (the all new Microsoft Outlook Web Apps) will be your professional email interface.
Airtel strongly recommend to take backup of all your data from existing platform. This is recommended even if you have successfully migrated all your data to new platform. Open your AIRTELMAIL account in a separate window. • Click on Options and ‘Settings’ [See top right corner]
Select ‘Forwarding and POP/IMAP Select “Enable POP for all mail (even mail that’s already been downloaded)” if not selected already Click “Save Changes”
Sign Out from the old airtelmail account Open your new airtelmail account in a separate window using https://login.microsoftonline.com/
We will now start the journey of getting your previous emails. • Click on Options. • Click on “All Options”
1. CLICK ON NEW 2. ENTER YOUR EXISTING AIRTELMAIL USERNAME and PASSWORD
TROUBLE SHOOTING In case of any error messages, please follow slide 21 to 23. Otherwise, move to Slide 24
Type your Display Name • Email address and User name will be your existing Airtelmail email id (the old email) • Put your Airtelmail (the old email) Password • Uncheck “Leave mail in server” • Type the details as on the left hand side under “Server Information” • Click “Save” 1 2 3 4 5 6
AFTER A CONNECTED ACCOUNT HAS BEEN CREATED
The interface will show the status as “Downloading” • Click on “Mail” (Top Left Hand Corner)
CUT-OFF MIGRATION: ONCE YOU HAVE DOWNLOADED ALL YOUR EMAILS TO THE NEW ACCOUNT
ONCE YOU HAVE COMPLETED DOWNLOADING ALL EMAILS TILL • THE LAST DATE, • Click on Options, More Options • Select the Account Name from the List and Delete the connection.
POST CUT-OFF: • Login with your old airtelmail username and new password. • ALL PREVIOUS EMAILS WILL BE RETAINED IN THE NEW INTERFACE
Great Achievement! Now all your old emails are there in your new Exchange Online mailbox powered by Microsoft Office 365.
