  2. Commander’s Concern • Alcohol misuse is a clear and present danger to our people and the mission • Alcohol misuse at F. E. Warren is everyone’s problem! • We are all responsible to be part of the solution!

  3. FEW’s 2003 Alcohol Related Incidents (ARIs) 133 Alcohol Related Incident Events: DUIs 38 Drunk on Duty 5 UADs 70 Alleged Sexual Assault 11 Assaults 24 Other 16 (selling to minors, public intoxication, etc.) Total ARIs by type: 164 Average Age 19

  4. FEW’s 2003 ARIs DUIs: 38 Incidents 11 were Underage Average Age is 24 Average # of Drinks 4.6 81% Over Age 21 29% were Underage

  8. 90th Space Wing Goals • 50% reduction in DUIs over each of the next two years • Increase prevalence of no-risk or low-risk drinking • Reduce ARIs

  10. What’s the Definition of “one drink”? • Whether it's served slightly chilled, room temperature, or on the rocks, here's the answer: one 1.5 oz shot of hard liquor at 40% alcohol or 80 proof one 12 oz. beerat 4-5% alcohol (look at the label) one 5 oz. glass of wine at 11% alcohol

Commander’s Expectations • We are accountable to uphold USAF standards • Responsible drinking means drinking in moderation (0-0-1-3) • If you plan to drink, develop a safe plan for getting home…before you walk out the door • Look out for your buddy • We all need to contribute to responsible drinking
