ENSEMBLE • Joint ESRC and EPSRC Technology Enhanced Learning Programme, part of the Teaching and Learning Research Programme (TLRP) • Ran from October 2008 until 2011 • Emerging Semantic Web and Linked Data technologies – MIT Exhibit (more from Simon) • Supporting case based learning in complex, controversial and rapidly-evolving fields

  3. Settings and Approach • Interdisciplinary research group and several different disciplinary research settings: • UG and PG • City Uni, Uni of Cambridge and LJMU • e.g. MOAM, Plant Sciences, Archaeology, Dance, Ed Studies, Environmental Ed • Participatory and ethnographic approach • Observations, workshops, focus groups, interviews, student researchers

  4. Exhibit • Open source project from MIT • Semantic web pages created from everyday data sources, like spreadsheets • Filter and find hidden patterns easily – visualisations include tables, maps, timelines… • No downloads! – just a little HTML knowledge required
