Lab-level Research and Development • Question: Can the FRAMES integration method be compatible with modern System-Biology scientific knowledge? • Simulation is common but not with tools like FORTRAN but with tools like MatLab, Mathematica, Maple, and SciLab. • Why Scilab? Free for non-commercial use and as powerful as MatLab. 3

To connect to FRAMES we • need to either: • provide file that can be • written by FRAMES, • 2) have FRAMES write values to the script directly using tools like BPP, or • 3) have a library set written for the specific tool to facilitate use in the environment (equivalent to a language specific interface). • For the purpose of this • demonstration we use #1.
