What You Need to Know • School begins at 8:10 • Send notes the next day when absent. • Join PTO • Planning Period- 1:00-1:45 • Conferences- a link will be sent out on Friday
Agenda • Bring everyday • Check for homework assignments and notes from teacher • Graded assignments will be sent home on Thursdays. Make sure to sign any “Parent Signature” papers.
Schedule • 8:10-10:45 Homeroom class • 10:45 *switch classes* • 10:45-11:30 Second class • 11:30-12:00 Recess • 12:00-12:30 Lunch • 12:30-1:00 Mustang Time • 1:00-1:45 Music, Art, PE • 1:45-3:20 Second class continued • 3:25 Dismissal
Cell Phones Cell Phones—must be turned off in area Not responsible for lost or stolen devices
Grades • Grading Policy- • 50 % Major Grades (Only required to have 3 per nine weeks) • Reassessments only on Major Grades below a 75 • 50 % Daily Grades • Grades below 75 will be sent home for signatures on Thursday. • There are no more “D” grades • Projects 10 points deducted if late after due date. After 5 days, grade will be recorded as a 0.
Homework Policy • Homework –Reading log and math log is assigned every night. Dojo points will be awarded for the completion of homework. • A Math Log (reflex math) • Reading for 20+ minutes and sign Reading Log • Spelling : Only 2-3 tests per nine weeks (Daily Grade) – Get to 50 Activities due day of test. • Book Projects ( 1st one due 10/12) • Instructions will be sent home for any other class projects
Tardies • Tardies For elementary students, a student arriving after 8:10 AM will be considered tardy. If a student has five (5) or more tardies in a grading period, he/she will receive an “N” (Needs Improvement) on his/her report card under the appropriate conduct section. • As our school policy states: A student with 5 or more tardies in a semester will be issued a 30 minute before or after school detention and be reported to our Fort Bend ISD truancy officer. After each additional 3 tardies, the student will be issued another 30 minute before or after school detention and another report will be made to the Fort Bend ISD truancy officer.

4th Grade Math 1st 9 weeks: • Graphing • Numeration (to billions) • Addition and Subtraction 2nd 9 weeks: • Multiplication (2x2 digit)/ Long division • Geometry- lines, angles, shapes, solids, transformations, symmetry, congruence 3rd 9 weeks: • Geometry - continued • Fractions 4th 9 weeks: • Measurement- Customary and Metric • Personal Financial Literacy ONGOING: • MEMORIZE MULTIPLICATION FACTS THROUGH 12X12 • PROBLEM SOLVING
Reading • 1st Nine Weeks: Reading Strategies and Poetry • 2nd Nine Weeks: Poetry and Expository text • 3rd Nine Weeks: Literary Nonfiction, Fiction/Drama/Traditional Literature, and Research • 4th Nine Weeks: Research, Review, and Persuasive text
Writing • 1st Nine Weeks: Friendly Letter, Writing strategies, and Author’s Craft • 2nd Nine Weeks: Author’s Craft and Expository • 3rd Nine Weeks: Personal Narrative, Expository, Assessment Strategies • 4th Nine Weeks: Expository, Assessment Strategies, Persuasive, Imaginative Stories
