HuBERT Pre-defined Guidance Documents • Will provide for following reports • Breastfeeding Duration – No Longer Breastfeeding • Breastfeeding Duration – Currently Breastfeeding • Initial Contact • Certification Due • Up-to-date versions already available for • Benefit Pick-up • Participation Vs. Enrollment Monthly

  7. Breastfeeding Duration – No Longer Breastfeeding OPR033 and OPR034

  8. Information Provided • Analysis of children between 14 and 24 months • Whether breastfed (initiation) • How long before stopped breastfeeding (duration) • Duration by race/ethnicity • Designed to be compared to Healthy People Goals

Report Criteria • All children • Age between 14 and 24 months as of last date of selected report month (inclusive) • In one valid certification period • Do not have to be in valid cert period at time report run • Must belong to agency/clinic (cannot be purged) • Breastfed children • Ever Breastfed = Yes • Date Breastfeeding Ended less than or equal to last date of selected report month

  10. Report Availability • Reports Environment • Clinic module • Run for one or multiple clinics • Based on agency currently working in/have access to • State Office module • Run for State, Grantee, Agency or Clinic(s)

  11. Date Range • Dependent on End-0f-Month (EOM) • Month/Year defaults to most recent completed EOM • Only available for months in which EOM has been run • Dynamic information • Updates report information for previous months each time EOM run • Transfers • Stop breastfeeding

  15. Report Content • Two different report output options • Standard • Healthy People Goals • Determines how children grouped into Breastfeeding Duration Age Categories

  16. BF Duration Age Categories • Determined by • Child’s age when stopped breastfeeding • Calculated • Using difference between Date Breastfeeding Began and Date Breastfeeding Ended collected in Health Information • Same dates = 1 day category

  17. BF Duration Age Categories • Standard • Children counted in only one age category • Healthy People Goals • Children < 1 month old when stopped BF counted in only one age category • Children > 1 month old when stopped BF counted in each applicable age category

  18. Counts of 14 to 24 month old children who currently belong to our agency, were breastfed at one time, and whose Breastfeeding End Date <= 1/31/2014 by ethnicity and race.

Report Percentages • Row total used as divisor • Provides percentage of children within same Ethnicity or Ethnicity/Race breastfed for duration • More interested in percentage of children of specified Ethnicity/Race based on total number of certified children 14 to 24 months breastfed for duration

  22. Report Percentages • Row total used as divisor • Percentage of breastfed infants who breastfed for certain duration • Could be used to compare and assess breastfeeding stats within own agency as move forward through time • Save report for future reference

  23. Compare to Healthy People Goals (Use Row A) • Report percentages not true comparison to Healthy People Goals • Healthy People Goals divisor uses total number of children certified • Where Ever Breastfed = Yes or No • Row A • Need to perform own calculations

Report Criteria • Date of birth falls within specified FROM and TO months • In Health Information screen • Ever Breastfed = Yes • Currently Breastfeeding • Breastfeeding Now checkbox – infants • Breastfeeding beyond One Year - children • In valid certification period at time report run • Infant or child • Cannot have been terminated
