Mini-Lesson Plan (Cont’d) Core Lesson • We will describe the activity and present a sample brochure and a list of potential locations. • Students will break into pairs or groups of three and choose a location on campus or in State College for which they will develop a brochure to promote an event. • Students will use plain paper, colored pencils and maps for materials and develop a brochure that includes some artwork depicting the location, a description of an event to take place there and directions to the location from the backdoor of Ferguson Bldg. • Brochure should include the items of what, when, where, why to encourage classmates to go to that location/event. • Students will create brochure and present in a subsequent class.

  5. Assessment • We will circulate around the class while students are working in groups. • During presentations and reviewing brochures, we will check for accuracy of pronunciation in speaking, and grammar and vocabulary in writing.
