Introduction • Twice exceptional is a term used for a student that would qualify as a gifted students and has a disability. • The more common IDEA disabilities are: • Speech • Section 504 - Diabetes • OHI - ADHD • SLD • Autism • Behavior Disorder
Identifying Twice Exceptional Students • Difficult to identify 2e students because: • 1. Disability masks Giftedness • 2. Giftedness masks disability • 3. Neither are identified
Case Management • Coordination of the Case Management of: • Services • Accommodations • Re-evaluations • IEP development • In WV the disability will always be the primary eligibility.
