Purpose and Objective • To collect performance statistics for the OpenMentor site using Gomez Active XF. • To collect the performance Counters of the end users from various locations of USA. • To measure the availability of the site at various locations in USA. • The objective is present the end user experience from various places in USA.
Performance test Scenario • The following Scenario was used to collect the Performance data. • Open OpenMentor welcome page. • Login to the home page. • Click Open the Online Exams Page • Click Open one of the Exam • Submit the Exam • Logout • The next slides shows the screen cast of the scenario.

Performance Testing Details • The main URL of the site used for testing • http://www.openmentor.net • The Performance data were collected for a period 2 hours from 14:00 IST to 16:00 IST • Performance data was collected from USA from the following 10 locations
Overall Scenario Performance • Important Observations • There are time out errors on Login Page. This needs to be addressed for 2 pages. • Overall response time of all the pages were well bellow 5 seconds. This is good sign.
Typical Load Test Benchmarks • Typical retail shopping or online exam sites need to have response times anywhere between 2 seconds and 7 seconds • Variation in response time across geographies must be within 10%, so that users all over the world see consistent performance • There must be no timeout errors • Availability of the pages must be as high as 99.999% (five nines principle)
