  3. The ONLY action which is for God is LOVE! • Love is action. • “I give you a new commandment: love one another. As I have loved you so you must love one another.“ • 1 John says there is no such thing as love for God without love for brother... for sister...

  4. What does it Mean to Love? • To be OPEN (VULNERABLE) • To have COMPASSION • To LISTEN and try to Understand ? Be Vulnerable in a prison environment ?

  5. God’s love is AGAPE love • Agape love is wanting the very best for someone else and being willing to be used by God to get it for that person. • God will always give us the strength to love one another if we ask for it. • Christian Community – a safe place • Must risk trusting another person, slowly • IT CAN BE DONE – in Community!

  6. What about FEAR? • As we grow in grace, fear recedes and disappears • 1 John tells us: • “There is no fear in love” • “Perfect love drives out all fear”

  7. The Christian method for reaching out to others • Make a friend • Be a friend • Introduce that friend to Christ

  8. YOU May Be … • The ONLY Bible some residents may ever read • The Only example of Christ some residents will ever see
