Pre - Vendor Summit Process • Four areas (UA, PM, SW, QM) • Each vendor responsible for one area • Successes, best practices, challenges • Offline feedback (XLS) followed by phone calls Outcome • Sense of cooperation rather than competition common goal • Comparison with own experience • Identification of major highlights/challenges “food for summit”
Vendor Summit • Format • Autodesk + 4 approved Vendors (Key Account people) • 1 day meeting held in Barcelona on the same week as Loc World • Process • Each vendor presenting the collated findings for 1 area • Areas (UA, PM, SW, QM, Language) 45 min’s per area • Open discussion on each area followed each presentation • Autodesk - FY13 Strategy and Planning • Innovation breakout sessions • Topics (Agile Localization / Resource Scalability and Training / Localization Benchmarks) • Outcome • Successful collaboration • Open and honest conversation • Clear map for improvement
Post Vendor Summit Several actions have been taken after the summit. • Project Manager Summit • Held before FY13 projects start, to encourage the face to face communications among Autodesk Program Managers and Vendor Project Managers. • Tools Evaluation: • Autodesk started to looking for more simplified project management tool to improve collaboration. The vendor Project Managers will be invited to take part in this evaluation. This is a very good practice that vendors can be involved before any new tools are introduced. • Platform Enhancement: • Autodesk continuously improves the integrated platform like GMS (WorldServer +Trisoft). • Vendors often found that the platform offers increasing productivities since actions and improvements are constantly driven and executed by Autodesk.
