  5. Marketing/ Promotion • Colin Gordon is the CEO of Glanbia foods and is a part of the marketing institute of Ireland • Methods of marketing include TV, public relations work in store tastings and samplings. • Glanbia’s many recognisable brands such as avenmore milk and yoplait yoghurt are supported by their television advertising. Avenmore is currently the most popular milk in Ireland partly because of its marketing. Avenmore fresh cream is advertised after the weather on the six o’clock news. Kilmeaden cheese is advertised on t.v . The campaign is that kilmeaden makes a delicious cheese toasty and it holds the top spot in the Irish cheese market. • People buy these products because they are good quality and made in Ireland. Ireland is well renowned for excellent dairy. • Glanbia’s target market are families. Their commercials show families enjoying their products. • Glanbia’s main competitors The competitors are Atrium Innovations Inc., Dairy Crest Group, Danone, Leprino Foods Company, Fonterra Co-operative Group Limited, Irish Dairy Board Co-operative Limited, United Dairy Farmers Limited

  6. Finance • The company’s market cap in millions is £I,612.93. The company’s earnings were effected badly by the ression (share prices dropped), but have improved since. There were 296 trades from the 9th to the 15th of November. Presently the company is well above the ftse 100. The company has been above the average since February. It is therefore doing well and making a profit.

  7. Conclusion • Glanbia is currently outlining a new international future for the company. It was debating weather or not to sell its Irish dairy and agricultural business in the hope to expand globally. Future acquisitions may include performance nutrition and clinical food. A deal needs permission of the shareholders. • I will invest in this company as part of my portfolio because I think it has profit potential.
