  3. Application Process • Cover Letter and Resume in September 2005 • Call in February 2007 • Interview in Charles City • Accepted Internship after forwarded a description

  4. Departments • Sales • Accounting • Transportation • Production Technical Support • Nucleus Team • Genetic Research

  5. Internship Responsibilities • Manage research at Traverse Clean • Assist with Technical Support, testing, and selection at Nucleus and Multiplication farms • Help with other projects from different departments • Office Projects

  6. Compensation • Hourly wage • Mileage and Expense Report • Apartment

  7. Traverse Clean Research Farm • 400-sow farm with attached nursery and finisher • Used to evaluate different lines in feeding Trials • Responsibilities included testing protocols and general barn work

  8. Nucleus and Multiplication Farm Work • Trained in Feet and Leg Selection • Trained to ultrasound for back fat and loin depth • Assisted farm managers with production problems

  9. Office Work • DNA Project • Pre-wean Mortality • Data entry and analysis
