PROPS LIST

1. PROPS LIST A list of the main props we will be using in our thriller opening.

2. HAMMER • During the sequence where the killer enters his house, he picks up a hammer on his way up to the room where the two detectives are. Jonathan will provide the hammer. The hammer will look similar to the one in the picture. • This relates to our narrative because it is a visual representation that the killer is dangerous, and having him holding it shows the audience that he is dangerous.

3. iPod + Headphones • During the sequence where the killer is walking home, we see that he has headphones in, and is listening to music. When he gets to his house, he brings out his iPod and turns off the music, taking his headphones out. Jonathan can provide the headphones. • The iPod and headphones help the killer to appear more normal, which relates to our narrative because the killer is trying to blend into society.

4. FAKE BLOOD • For one of the last shots, when the killer beats the first detective with the hammer, we see blood spattering onto the floor. For this scene we will be using fake blood. • Blood is used in this thriller as a visual representation of death. The blood is there to confirm that there is a death, and it relates to our narrative because it shows the brutality of the scene and the killing.

5. COSTUMES • The killer wears a dark coat, which is meant to identify him as someone dangerous, as dark clothing is usually associated with antagonists. By wearing the audience knows that he is possibly someone to be careful around. The dark clothes adds to the mystery of the character and makes the audience ask questions about him. • The two detectives do not wear any headgear or hats so we can see their faces. They wear dark casual clothes with nothing that stands out too much, such as white. They are not meant to draw attention to themselves. By wearing black they make themselves more mysterious.
