  7. What Do These Acronyms Mean? • Plasma - Plasma Displays are larger flat panel TVs that use conductive plasma to produce colored light.

LCD Plasma • They are coming out in larger sizes similar to that of plasma screens • They consume less power than plasma • LCD is great for static images • They work well in bright rooms with a lot of sunlight • Prices have dropped in recent years • Thin and relatively lightweight • Great for watching sports • Has much better blacks • Viewing angels from almost anywhere in room

LCD Plasma • Picture slightly less natural • Black levels not as rich • Motion can be slightly blurred at 60Hz • Viewing angle limitations • Picture brightness variation as viewers move further off axis • Uses a lot of Electricity • Earlier models can have bad burn in problems • Can be heavier in larger models • Prices still higher than LCD of comparable models

  12. What Are The Cons? LED DLP • Misrepresentation, LED TVs are actually LCD TVs with LED Lighting • Can have Rainbow effect • Expensive to replace DLP engine • Can run very warm
