  3. Why is it a Myth? • When fires reaches flashoverthe entire room can have burn marks • Flashover is the point when an entire room ignites • Extreme heat produces burn marks or even burn holes in the floor

  4. How Does it Affect Investigation? • It makes it more difficult to tell if the fire is actually arson • People are incorrectly charged for mistaking an accident for a murder OR fires are scene as an accident when they are actually on purpose
