  1. Alaska DOT&PF Super-Cor Buried Bridge Spans April 10, 2012 Doug Myers Greeley, CO

  2. Where Would AKDOT Use Super Cor Bridges High Cover, Heavy Loads, Medium Bridges: 1 High Cover, the efficient profile of the Super Cor Bridge allows for higher fill heights for bridge/culvert crossings 2 Heavy Loads, the strength of the Super Cor Bridge System can effectively handle E80 Railroad Loadings, Heavy off road trucks crossings, etc… 3 Medium Bridges, Super Cor Bridge Spans allow for clear spans over 50 ft., which provide an alternative to medium span conventional bridges.

  3. Why Would AKDOT Use Super Cor Bridges High Cover, Heavy Loads, Medium Bridges: 1 Lower Cost Mobilization,Super-Cor Bridge spans are assembled on site and can be transported on standard highway load trucks 2 Lower cost Construction,Super-Cor Bridge spans do not require large cranes or girder launching equipment to set. 3 Lower Cost overall, High cover designs result in shorter spans, smaller structures, accelerated construction.

  4. DESIGN AND SPECIFICATIONS SNAP SHOT OF FEA ANALYSIS All buried bridge span structures should be analyzed through finite element as required by AASHTO and FHWA AASHTO LRFD Bridge Specifications
