  3. Zelenski presentation (APEX, RSC)

  4. Horizontal (Yellow-2) emittance measurements vs. bunch intensity

  5. Polarization vs. bunch intensity in RHIC

  6. Horizontal emittance in yellow at store: 6.5 p Beam width-0.32 mm Horizontal emittance in Blue: 8.7 p Sigma-1.14 mm

  7. Small emittances in RHIC Linac injector upgrade reduced emittances from 15 pi to about 5-8 pi. High polarized source intensity allowed to reduce linac pulseduration, which reduces the multiple scattering in the stripping foil. Even with short linac pulse, the beam intensity is sufficient to use vertical scraping in Booster (about 50%) to reduce vertical (and in less extent horizontal) beam emittances. It looks like the present AGS setup doesn’t blow-out the emittances. Small emittances in AGS helps to reduce depolarization. It was demonstrated that for a number of RHIC fills there is no emittance growth during the acceleration (at least at moderate bunch intensity).

  8. Tune ripple at store ~0.01 tune ripple at store observed on BBQ at store in ops Use AC quad to apply known (2Hz) modulation to check BBQ • 2 Hz (AC dipole) and 10 Hz (triplet vibration) Mar-18-2009 01:35 (2 edits): AC quadrupole is turned on with +/- 10 A amplitude and 2 Hz frequency. Expect 4.5E-3 tune modulation (peak-to-peak) in both planes (due to location in IR4). Observe dQx = 0.7107-0.7059 = 4.8E-3dQy = 0.6793-0.6731 = 6.2E-3Expect also anti-correlation as observed. -Ryoichi, Kevin, Wolfram, Minty
