What are Geriatric Education Centers? • Geriatric Education Centers (GECs) are dedicated to improving the education/training, supply, distribution and quality of health care professionals through strong community-academic partnerships; ultimately to improve the quality of health care for all elderly individuals, including the underserved and minorities
GECs with Curriculum Resources • 50 Geriatric Education Centers funded by HRSA • Goal is for education and dissemination • Often Free Power point presentations, Webcasts or Youtube videos. • Occasionally have costs associated with DVDs or CD Roms Range from $10 to $25 • Planning ahead will be helpful • Organized by competency listings
