Finger Rhyme 3 • Provide regular opportunities for children to learn and practise a finger rhyme • You model each segment of language and its matching action • You pause to invite the children to speak in chorus, echoing your words and copying your action • Children gradually learn to perform it by heart

  3. Monsieur Pouce both thumbs stand up, fingers tucked away fingers stand up too est fingers from both hands join together to form a roof over the head of the thumbs dans sa maison Repeat

  4. Toc, toc, toc ! right hand knocks on side of your head, as if knocking on the door Qui est là ? left thumb stands up, you shrug shoulders, look around C’est moi ! right thumb stands up left thumb hides, you go to sleep Chut ! Je dors !

  5. Mais !Toc, toc, toc ! right hand knocks insistently on side of head Qui est là ? left thumb stands up, you shrug shoulders, look around C’est moi ! right thumb stands up left thumb comes out to greet right thumb Ah ! Je sors !

  6. Monsieur Pouce Mr Thumb is est at home dans sa maison Repeat

  7. Toc, toc, toc ! Knock, knock, knock! Qui est là ? Who is it? C’est moi ! It’s me! Shh! I’m asleep! Chut ! Je dors !

  8. Mais !Toc, toc, toc ! But… Knock, knock, knock! Qui est là ? Who is it? C’est moi ! It’s me! Ah! I’m coming! Ah ! Je sors !

  9. Finger Rhyme 3 Monsieur Pouce est dans sa maison. Monsieur Pouce est dans sa maison. Toc, toc, toc ! C’est moi ! Mais ! Toc, toc, toc ! C’est moi ! Qui est là ? Chut ! Je dors ! Qui est là? Ah, je sors !
