Research Interests • Improving maternal-child health services for vulnerable populations • Adolescent mothers, urban poor, new immigrant & aboriginal families • Acute care, primary care, community-based & public health services • Collaboration between providers & sectors • Mixed methods • Focus on qualitative & survey methodologies Wendy Peterson RN, PhD

Current Research • Pregnant and parenting youth project • Peterson W, Moreau D, Edwards N & Montgomery P • Funded by Nancy Edwards’ CHSRF/CIHR Chair pilot funds • To identify gaps in the existing system of resources for pregnant & parenting youth. • Data analysis phase • Integrating services for vulnerable families project • Partnership: Community Health & Resource Centres, Ottawa Public Health & Community Health Research Unit. • To evaluate the effectiveness of a multi-level intervention designed to improve collaboration between primary care and public health maternal-child services & child outcomes.
