Antonio Gaudi's life. • Antonio Gaudi was born on June 25, 1852 at Catalonia on the Mediterranean coast of Spain. Antonio Gaudi took to architecture at a young age and attended school in Barcelona, this was the city that was the home of where Antonio created all of his designs. He created many designs becoming famous and making a lot of money. Antonio died on June 10, 1926, with a good name and reputation leaving behind many inspired people who will carry on with his artworks.
Fun facts about Antonio • He began designing small projects but soon met Eusebi Guell. Guell became Gaudi’s patron and the architect designed buildings and parks in his name. • The building that Antonio Gaudi is best known for, though, is La Sagrada Family in Barcelona (shown below). He began this huge church in 1882 and he worked on it until he died in 1926 • You can see the characteristics of Art Nouveau in Gaudi’s work. There are bright tile mosaics and curving lines. He was very influenced by nature as you can see in the chimneys at Palau Guell.
Antonio Gaudies works are so inspiring and his life story as well. He has a range of different buildings, big, small, round, tall etc. Antonio's life story is so inspiring. This comes to show us that we can do many things in time to come. People like Antonio are marvellous creators and some of the buildings that Antonio designs are truly amazing!
