  2. About me! • Iron or Ferrum in Latin • My atomic symbol is Fe • I am a transition metal • Atomic number = 26 • Atomic weight = 56 • I have 26 protons, 26 Electrons, and 30 neutrons

  3. Discovered: • No one is really sure when or who found me exactly • We just know it was before 5000 B.C.

  4. My friends and enemies: • I’m pretty good friends with the Halogens and other Transition metals • Tony Stark… • I don’t like the Noble Gasses • Oxygen and I work together but he makes me rust.

  5. Why I’m important: • I am found in hemoglobin. • I help make new red blood cells. • I help with cellular respiration. • I’m important in industry as well.

  6. What I look like • I am shiny and gray

  7. Properties: • I’m a solid • Melting point: 1811 K or 1538 °C • Boiling point: 3134 K or 2862 °C • Im a 4 on Mohs hardness scale
