Goals & Objectives Main Goal: • To implement a Student Green Energy Fund that would charge students 50 cents per credit hour each semester. The funds would be used to implement sustainability programs on the FAMU campus. Objectives: • To inform 70 percent of the current freshman class about the Student Green Energy Fund. • To persuade 60 percent of the current freshman class that the Student Green Energy Fund is a necessary fund to have on FAMU’s Campus. • To have 50 percent of the current freshman class to vote in favor of the Student Green Energy Fund in February.
The Paint the Campus Green Our research shows that students are interested in the Green Energy Fund. Our “Paint the Campus Green” campaign will inform the students of the fund, persuade them that it is a necessary fund to have on campus and ensure that they vote in favor of the campaign in the February elections.
Phase 1:Inform • Join forces with the NPHC (they will be the faces of your campaign) • Begin to play the new SGF commercials at: • FAMU basketball games • On FAMU TV 20 • Theatre productions • Greek parties
Phase 2: Persuade • Candidates for elections will be contacted to inform them of the benefits of adding sustainability to their campaign platforms. • Having the candidates at least speak on the subject will bring attention to the issue…they need platform points to add to their flyers. • The Green Block Party/Campus Clean Up • On January 27, 2011 the FAMU Green Coalition and the NPHC will host a Block Party.
Phase 3: VOTE/Green Party • FGC and NPHC will host a “Green Party” in the Grand Ballroom • Student wearing their “I voted sticker” will gain entrance into the party. • Students will be informed of this party through social media, planned commercials and at the “Green Block Party,”
