What was the plan? • The plan was to warn about an attack of the British. There were to be two lanterns if the British were going by sea and one lantern if by land.
What did Paul revere have to do? • What Paul Revere had to do before his ride even started was get across the Charleston river. It isn’t actually that simple considering all the British war ships with soldiers on them. • After Paul revere got across the river safely he had to wait a while for the lanterns to be hung so he could tell the minute men what they were doing.
Is there anybody else we should recognize? • Yes there is. There are two other people you should remember Dawes and Prescott. They were also part of the ride and the plan about warning of the British. Incase one of the three got caught the other two could keep going. They were lucky that they thought about two extras because Paul Revere did get caught!
Facts about Paul Revere • Paul Revere did not actually say “the British are coming, the British are coming.” He said “the regulars are coming, the regulars are coming” because that’s what the British infantry was called.
Are there any historical places we should remember? • Yes you should remember North Church: that is where the two lanterns were hung. The Sumerset (British warship Paul revere had to go by while sailing the Charleston River)
