AfghanistancooperationwiththeEmbassy of theIslamic Republic of Afghanistanin Warsaw • 2012 – 70 - applications 54 – identity confirmation 22 – document issued • 2013 – 32 applications (plus 10 reminders) 23 – identity confirmation 8 – documents issued • consular interviews (telephone interviews possible) • the embassy confirms identity but does not issue travel documents for persons who do not express their willingness to return to the country of origin • expulsions on EU Letter (on the basis of Dutch experience) – 2 cases • problems with visas for BG officers

IraqcooperationwiththeEmbassy of the Republic of Iraqin Warsaw • 2012 – 17 applications 4 – identity confirmation 2 – document issued • 2013 – 20 applications (plus 35 reminders) 3 – identity confirmation 1 – document issued • consular interviews are not crucial • in order to confirm identity copies of ID, certificate of origin and personal registration number are necessary • Copy of a passport is not enough

IrancooperationwiththeEmbassy of theIslamic Republic of Iran in Warsaw • 2012 – 17 applications 2013 – 9 applications (plus 9 reminders) 3 – identity confirmation 1 – document issued • in order to confirm identity of a foreigner a copy of Szenasname (Iranian document that serves as ID and Birth certificate)and information concerning members of the person’s family in Iran has to be provided (addresses and telephone numbers) • consular interviews (if a foreigner does not intend to talk with a representative of the embassy, the consular interviews are not carried out) • a document is issued only if a foreigner states his willingness to return to his country of origin

SyriacooperationwiththeEmbassy of theSyrian Arab Republic in Warsaw • 2012 – 31 applications 1 – identity confirmation 1 – document issued 2013 – 60 applications (plus 121 reminders) 31 – identity confirmation no documents issued • deportations to Syria have been halted • consular interviews are possible • the embassy confirms identities but does not issue documents because of warfares in Syria
